An Interview with Jolie Beauté’s Founder, Dr Yip:

For years, Jolie Beauté was one of Hong Kong’s best-kept skincare secrets. Tucked away just two MTR stops from Central — above Jordan station — it quietly built a reputation among those in the know. From celebrities and KOLs to actors and high-profile professionals, Dr Yip’s clinic became a trusted destination not for chandeliers or Instagrammable decor, but for science-led results, transparent pricing, and a rare sense of trust.

There are no aggressive sales pitches here. No upsells. No pressure. Just a clear, evidence-based approach to skincare and aesthetics — with Dr Yip, a trained surgeon and medical aesthetics expert, at the helm. Every patient knows exactly what they’re signing up for before they walk in. Transparent pricing, expert care, and the kind of calm clarity that’s increasingly hard to find.

We sat down with Dr Yip to talk about the new rules of skincare, why fillers are falling out of fashion, and how beauty has quietly shifted from trends to trust:

Dr Yip, let’s start with the basics. People often confuse Botox and fillers — what’s the difference?

Dr Yip: Great question — and one I hear almost daily. Botox and fillers are very different, both in how they work and what they’re designed to do.

Botox relaxes muscles. It’s typically used to soften expression lines — like crow’s feet, frown lines, and forehead creases — by reducing movement in the underlying muscle. The effect is temporary and can last 3–6 months.

Fillers, on the other hand, add volume. They’re made of substances like hyaluronic acid and are used to restore fullness — for example in cheeks, lips, under the eyes, or even the jawline. They’re great for contouring but must be used with precision, especially in the face where anatomy really matters.

Why have so many people stopped having filler?

Dr Yip: We’re seeing a shift away from that “overfilled” aesthetic. Patients are more informed now — they want to look fresher, not different. In some cases, filler was being used too often, or in areas where volume loss wasn’t the real issue.

There’s also growing awareness of filler fatigue — when repeated use leads to unnatural results or even distortion of facial features. In our clinic, we take a very conservative approach: if you don’t need it, we’ll tell you. Sometimes the answer isn’t more volume — it’s skin quality, collagen, or simply time.

What’s Rejuran? It’s gaining popularity — but what does it actually do?

Dr Yip: Rejuran is a polynucleotide-based injectable that works by stimulating the skin’s healing processes and boosting collagen production. It’s often called “skin healing treatment” and is excellent for improving skin texture, reducing fine lines, and treating acne scars.

It doesn’t change your shape, it doesn’t freeze muscles — it just helps the skin regenerate and repair itself from within. That’s why I love it. It’s subtle but powerful. Perfect for people who want their skin to look healthier, not necessarily “done”.

How does Morpheus8 fit into the picture?

Dr Yip: Morpheus8 is a powerful treatment that combines microneedling with radiofrequency (RF) to remodel skin and stimulate collagen production. What makes it different is the depth it can reach — anywhere from 2 to 7mm, depending on the area being treated.

On the face, we typically use depths of 2 to 4mm, tailored to each individual’s skin quality and fat distribution. On the body, we can go deeper, especially when targeting areas with more laxity.

But it’s not a one-size-fits-all treatment. Morpheus8 can burn fat, which is beneficial in some areas — but when treating the face, we actually want to preserve fat as we age, not reduce it. That’s why we take a gradual, personalised approach. The goal isn’t to shrink or over-tighten, but to refine, improve skin texture, and gently lift — all while respecting the natural structure of the face.

And what is Oligio? Is it like Ultherapy or Thermage?

Dr Yip: Oligio is a radiofrequency skin tightening treatment — it’s often compared to Thermage. It’s non-invasive, safe for most skin types, and ideal for people experiencing mild to moderate skin laxity.

While Thermage and Ultherapy work differently (Ultherapy uses ultrasound), Oligio is often more comfortable and gives a visible tightening effect over time. It stimulates collagen while improving elasticity, and it’s particularly popular around the jawline and neck.

Jolie Beauté has always taken a very understated approach — why?

Dr Yip: Because skin isn’t a trend. It’s biology. It reflects your health, hormones, habits — not just what serum you’re using. I don’t believe in chasing every new active ingredient or device. We carefully choose what works, based on science, not marketing.

Our patients trust us to be honest. If you don’t need something, I’ll tell you. If there’s a more effective or safer option, we’ll discuss it. We don’t do pushy packages, and you’ll always know what your bill is before you walk through the door. That matters to people — especially when it comes to their face.

What type of patient is Jolie Beauté best suited for?

Dr Yip: If you’re looking for a glam, Instagrammable clinic experience — we may not be for you. And that’s okay.

But if you want transparent pricing, a calm, discreet environment, and honest advice from someone who’s medically trained to understand the anatomy of your face — then we’re a good match. Many of our patients come in for skin health (facials and non-invasive treatments) between procedural appointments. Others just want to feel more like themselves again. We see tourists, professionals, new mums, and (lots of!) men — anyone who wants real results without the noise.

You’ve built a loyal following, but Jolie Beauté still feels like an IYKYK kind of place. Why do you think that is?

Dr Yip: We’ve never advertised heavily. It’s always been word of mouth. Patients who come here tend to stay with us for years. They value expertise over flash.

For many, it’s a place where they don’t have to second-guess — there’s no pressure, just honest, medically grounded skincare and aesthetic advice. And sometimes, that’s exactly what people are looking for.

The Quiet Confidence of Jolie Beauté

In a beauty space driven by trends, filters, and fast fixes, Jolie Beauté offers something refreshingly different. No noise, no push — just evidence-based treatments, medical expertise, and a deep respect for skin as something to care for, not correct.

Whether you’re here to restore balance, support healthy ageing, or simply get clarity on what your skin really needs, this is one of those rare clinics that treats beauty as personal — and where the results are designed to last.

Why Your Phone is Aging You Faster—” Tech Neck” – And What to Do About It https://staging.whiteorchidinsights.com/news/why-your-phone-is-aging-you-faster-tech-neck-and-what-to-do-about-it/ Wed, 12 Mar 2025 13:10:40 +0000 https://staging.whiteorchidinsights.com/?p=505133 Why Your Phone is Aging You Faster—” Tech Neck”

– and what to do about it

Whilst writing this, I thought about how often I tilt my head down to check the phone. I bow my head to reply to an email, or scroll through Instagram. In fact, I spend most of my waking time in that “tech neck” position, looking at my laptop or my phone. I read the phrase, “tech neck” and look at my own neck. Yes, there are lines there – and apparently, tech neck is a thing.

First – I am no stranger to aesthetic practices and I have trusted Dr. Yip with my face (and neck) for over 8 years. She has never let me down and I feel pretty good for my age (43). She helps me to age gracefully and look and feel at my best. That said, I am now at the point where my neck doesn’t look as fresh as it could and I might be ready for a little help. So, I’d like to understand the idea of tech neck better. Is this really due to phone use or are the lines on our neck just part of natural ageing? And, what can we do about it?

To explore what can be done to prevent and treat tech neck, I spoke with Dr. Yip, lead surgeon at Jolie Beaute and one of Hong Kong’s most respected aesthetics experts. Her approach is a thoughtful, preventative strategy that strengthens and restores the skin’s natural structure rather than overcorrecting it.

Is Tech Neck a Thing?

“Yes” according to Dr. Yip. So called, “tech neck”, is on the rise due to excessive phone and device use. Looking down, often slumped in bed or on the couch creates the “tech neck” angle – which “creases” up the area. Even if we don’t stay in this position for a long time,  small, repetitive movements to look down get compounded over years of daily screen time and it’s changing the way we age”.

According to Dr. Yip, “tech neck” is more than just fine (or deep) lines appearing in the neck area. It’s a visible shift in how the jawline and neck area lose definition over time, with fine lines and sagging appearing earlier and in a more pronounced way than we would expect from someone of that age.

Traditionally, concerns around neck laxity and jawline softening were associated with natural aging. “Now, lifestyle factors are accelerating the process. Patients as early as their twenties and thirties are noticing the early signs of skin laxity, there is nothing innately wrong with this process but it has become a more common area of concern for my clients. As I always say, it’s a privilege to age, but let’s try to age well.”

How ‘Tech Neck’ Develops—and Why It’s Harder to Treat Than Facial Aging

The skin on the neck and jawline is structurally different from facial skin. It has fewer oil glands, less collagen, and thinner layers of support tissue, making it less resilient to constant movement, gravity, and repetitive folding.

“Many patients focus on facial anti-aging but overlook their neck and jawline,” explains Dr. Yip. “By the time they notice sagging or deeper lines, the skin has already lost a significant amount of elasticity. We treat this area with either injectable or non invasive approaches which are both growing in popularity in Hong Kong.”

Dr Yip explains to us that, unlike the face, which is frequently treated with skincare and injectables, the neck ages more subtly—but often more dramatically. When combined with long hours of looking down at screens, poor posture, and natural collagen depletion, the result is an increasingly softened jawline, horizontal neck lines, and overall loss of definition.

“While there is no single treatment that reverses neck aging entirely, a combined approach using regenerative technology, skin-tightening treatments, and preventative care can dramatically improve definition and skin quality”.

So you have tech neck? What to do next

First, we all know that we need to be on our phones less, but realistically, that’s not going to happen. Second, we’re all for ageing gracefully, naturally and being compassionate to ourselves about the skin we’re in. But, if we want to take action, how can we fix neck wrinkles and “tech neck”?

Dr. Yip explains that she takes a customised approach to treating “tech neck” or neck ageing in general. She focuses on stimulation and structural support rather than excessive intervention.

“The goal isn’t to freeze movement or create an unnatural lift,” she says. “The most effective treatments are those that work with the skin’s natural biology, triggering long-term improvements rather than temporary corrections.”

So, here are the options for treatments for strengthening the skin and redefining the jawline.

Ultra 360 Exilis: Subtle Skin Tightening for Early Prevention

For patients in the early stages of “tech neck”—when fine lines and mild laxity first appear—radiofrequency energy is one of the most effective treatments to strengthen and tighten the skin.

Ultra 360 Exilis delivers controlled heat deep into the dermal layers, stimulating collagen production and tissue remodeling. The result is firmer, smoother skin with a subtle lifting effect.

– Best for: Early signs of laxity, fine lines, and skin creasing

– Treatment approach: Weekly sessions for six to eight weeks, followed by maintenance every few months

– Results timeline: Immediate skin tightening with continued collagen stimulation over several weeks

“This is one of the most effective ways to slow down the visible effects of tech neck before they become more pronounced,” says Dr. Yip. “Starting early with skin-tightening treatments can prevent the need for more aggressive interventions later on.”

Morpheus8: Deep Collagen Remodeling for Lasting Firmness

“For patients experiencing moderate sagging or deeper structural changes, Morpheus8 combines radiofrequency with microneedling to target both the superficial skin and the deeper connective tissues”.

Unlike traditional microneedling, which Dr Yip explains works only on the surface of the skin, Morpheus8 penetrates deeper to stimulate collagen and elastin from within, resulting in tighter, more lifted skin over time.

– Best for: Moderate skin laxity, loss of definition, deeper wrinkles

– Treatment approach: Three sessions, spaced four to six weeks apart, with annual maintenance

– Results timeline: Improvements begin within a few weeks, with full results visible after three months

“Morpheus8 works well for those who are beginning to see structural skin changes but want a non-surgical solution with lasting results,” says Dr. Yip.

Oligio RF: Restoring Jawline Definition and Tightening Sagging Skin  (non-invasive)

“For more noticeable laxity and loss of jawline definition, Oligio RF delivers a higher-intensity radiofrequency treatment designed to remodel collagen at a deeper level”.

The controlled energy stimulates neocollagenesis, helping to firm, lift, and reshape the jawline while maintaining natural movement. Side note, I was invited to try Oligio and I loved the results – bouncy, cloud like, more youthful skin

– Best for: Loss of definition along the jawline, mild to moderate skin sagging

– Treatment approach: Sessions every four to six months, often combined with Ultra 360 Exilis

– Results timeline: Progressive improvement over several months, with long-term benefits

“This is a key treatment for those noticing a softened lower face and jawline,” Dr. Yip explains. “It delivers deeper structural support, which is crucial for patients who aren’t yet ready for injectables but want to maintain definition.”

Profhilo: Deep Hydration and Elasticity Restoration

Profhilo is a next-generation injectable treatment that stimulates the skin’s natural regenerative processes rather than simply filling lines or adding volume.  So, as far as we understand it, this treatment is about helping your skin to regenerate vs. the old school approach of adding filler to every “space” that needs filling.

Dr. Yip explained, “Unlike traditional fillers, Profhilo spreads evenly beneath the skin, delivering deep hydration and collagen stimulation for a firmer, more elastic appearance. We deliver, small, surface level injections and you can expect to see visible signs of improvement over the next few weeks and months”.

– Best for: Skin laxity, crepey texture, and fine lines

– Treatment approach: Two sessions, one month apart, followed by maintenance every six months

– Results timeline: Noticeable improvement in firmness, elasticity, and overall skin resilience after 2 weeks, lasts around 4-6 months.

“This is one of the most popular treatments for the neck area among my clients. It’s an effective way to rebuild the skin’s foundation without creating an artificial look,” explains Dr. Yip. “It enhances rather than changes—keeping results natural and refined.”

Subtle, Long-Term Solutions Over Aggressive Fixes

This is my third conversation about aesthetics with Dr. Yip and a theme is emerging. The conversation around aesthetics is shifting. Patients no longer want dramatic, obvious interventions—they want to look like themselves, just fresher and better supported over time. I can relate to this, I don’t mind looking my age (truly), I just don’t want to look tired. I want to look and feel fresh and at my best.

“With modern treatments, we have the ability to prevent and correct early signs of aging in a way that feels natural and undetectable,” Dr. Yip says. “It’s about longevity—giving the skin the support it needs so that dramatic corrections aren’t necessary later.”

My take on this? For those noticing the early signs of “tech neck”, the best results come from a personalised, strategic approach that balances non-invasive treatments with lifestyle adjustments.  Will I change the way I use my phone? I’ll try, but deadlines are deadlines and Instagram is well, you know. So, I have booked myself in with Dr. Yip have my first round of Morpheus 8. I have never tried this treatment but I have seen and heard celebrities obsess over its effectiveness, so I am excited (and will report back – on Instagram).

Dr. Yip ends with saying “The earlier we intervene with preventative treatments and regenerative aesthetics, the longer we can maintain a defined, youthful jawline—without the need for more invasive procedures.”

Come back soon for my next chat with Dr Yip.

Why the ‘Salmon Sperm’ Trend Isn’t Going Away — And What It’s Really Doing for Your Skin https://staging.whiteorchidinsights.com/news/why-the-salmon-sperm-trend-isnt-going-away-and-what-its-really-doing-for-your-skin/ Wed, 05 Mar 2025 13:17:25 +0000 https://staging.whiteorchidinsights.com/?p=505119 Why the ‘Salmon Sperm’ Trend Isn’t Going Away — And What It’s Really Doing for Your Skin

If you’ve been keeping an eye on global skincare trends or visiting beauty hotspots like LA, London, or Seoul, you may have come across the term Rejuran—the injectable treatment made from salmon DNA. While the concept might initially sound unusual, it’s gaining traction worldwide for a reason. We spoke with Dr. Yip, surgeon and founder of Jolie Beaute in Hong Kong, to explore why Rejuran is here to stay and how it’s transforming the way we think about anti-aging treatments.

What is Rejuran, and why is everyone talking about it?

Unlike more traditional treatments like Botox, which works by freezing muscles, or dermal fillers that add volume, Rejuran takes a completely different approach. This treatment works at a cellular level to repair and rejuvenate skin. The key ingredient in Rejuran is Polynucleotides (PN)—tiny DNA fragments extracted from salmon. These DNA fragments are carefully chosen due to their similarity to human DNA and their ability to stimulate deep skin healing and regeneration.

As Dr. Yip explains, “Rejuran helps with collagen production, enhances hydration, boosts elasticity, and improves the skin barrier. After a few sessions, patients typically experience smoother, “bouncier” and more hydrated skin.”

The real draw of Rejuran is that it focuses on restoring your skin’s natural vitality, rather than just offering quick fixes. This regenerative approach offers long-term benefits and healthier skin, rather than a temporary, superficial effect.

The science behind the trend: Why salmon DNA?

You may be wondering, why salmon? The use of salmon DNA might sound strange, but it’s rooted in science. Salmon DNA shares a structure remarkably similar to human DNA, which allows it to effectively support the healing process in human skin. These Polynucleotides encourage the skin’s natural repair mechanisms, which leads to healthier, more vibrant skin over time.

“We’re not just seeing cosmetic improvements,” Dr. Yip explains. “With Rejuran, the skin’s structure is genuinely improving at the cellular level, which leads to long-lasting, noticeable results.”

Instead of focusing on external, short-term solutions, this treatment nurtures the skin’s natural regeneration process, making it ideal for those who want to invest in long-term skin health.

What to expect from a Rejuran treatment

If you’re considering trying Rejuran, here’s a breakdown of what you can expect from the treatment:

The Treatment: Micro-injections of the salmon DNA solution are administered across the face. Typically, around 30 injections per side are made. While the process may sound uncomfortable, it’s generally well-tolerated, and the pain is minimal.
Downtime: After the treatment, expect some mild redness or swelling for about 4-24 hours. Some people may experience puffiness around the eyes, but this tends to subside quickly.
Results: Visible improvements can usually be seen within two weeks, with optimal results typically occurring after three sessions. Patients report bouncier, fresher, and more hydrated skin.
Frequency: For the first two months, treatments are recommended every 3-4 weeks. After that, you can maintain results with treatments every 6-12 months.

Dr. Yip highlights that Rejuran isn’t about offering an instant fix; it’s about restoring the skin’s health over time. “It’s a long-term approach to skincare, focusing on building the foundation for healthy skin rather than masking problems temporarily.”

Beyond Botox: The rise of “Tweakments” and natural beauty

While Botox and dermal fillers continue to be popular, there’s a noticeable shift in global skincare trends—especially in Hong Kong—towards more natural, subtle treatments like Rejuran. As more patients seek results that look and feel authentic, the demand for treatments that restore and rejuvenate is growing.

In Korea, London, LA and Singapore, Rejuran has already made waves, and it’s gaining popularity in Hong Kong as well. People are opting for treatments that focus on long-term skin health, rather than just immediate, superficial results.

“The trend isn’t just about looking younger,” says Dr. Yip. “It’s about restoring the skin’s vitality so that it stays healthy and strong. This approach is gaining momentum in Hong Kong, where more people are looking for treatments that improve their skin’s overall health, not just its appearance.”

This growing trend in Hong Kong is also part of a wider global shift toward responsible skincare that focuses on the health of the skin, rather than temporary fixes. Patients are becoming more discerning, understanding that true beauty comes from within and from treatments that nurture and protect their skin over the long term.

Trust (in your treatment) vs. fads

As with any new beauty trend, authenticity is key. There’s an increasing number of counterfeit or diluted Rejuran treatments in the market, which is why it’s so important to seek out licensed and reputable clinics. Dr. Yip emphasises that at Jolie Beaute, they use only genuine products and ensure the treatments are performed with the utmost care and expertise.

“It’s essential that patients trust the treatments they’re receiving,” Dr. Yip says. “At Jolie Beaute, we only use authorised, high-quality Rejuran, and we pride ourselves on offering a zero-sales, no-pressure environment. Our focus is always on what’s best for our patients.”

Ethical skincare and patient-centric care

WOI’s take on this? In Hong Kong, so many beauty treatments are driven by sales and promotions. It’s refreshing to see Jolie Beaute’s commitment to ethical practices and patient-first care which sets it apart in the competitive beauty industry. By focusing on providing transparent, professional treatments rather than pushing promotions or sales, the clinic can build trust with every patient.

Dr. Yip believes that the most important thing is to ensure patients feel informed and confident in their decisions. At Jolie Beaute, the aim is to offer a space where patients can learn about the treatments available to them, ask questions, and make informed choices based on their needs.

“It’s about helping patients understand the treatments, the science behind them, and why they’re the best options for their skin,” says Dr. Yip. “We never “push” treatments. It’s all about finding the right treatment for each individual.”

This patient-centric approach has earned Jolie Beaute a reputation for offering not just effective treatments, but also a supportive, educational environment for those looking to take control of their skincare journey.

What’s next for skincare in Hong Kong?

Availability of affordable beauty treatments in Hong Kong is on the rise, which is good news for us all. So, whilst a quick “tweakment” trip to Korea might be tempting, grabbing a HK$3,000 “salmon sperm” treatment in Hong Kong might be more gentle on the wallet.

The future of skincare in Hong Kong looks promising, with treatments like Rejuran leading the charge toward a more holistic, scientifically-backed approach to anti-aging and skin health. With a growing focus on authenticity, patient care, and long-term wellness, Hong Kong is becoming a local favourite for effective, affordable, responsible beauty practices.

As the beauty landscape continues to change and advance, the shift toward natural, regenerative treatments like Rejuran is helping to redefine what beauty means. For those seeking authentic, effective skincare, Rejuran offers a solution that nurtures the skin while promoting long-term health, ensuring that beauty is more than just skin deep.

For those curious about Rejuran, it’s clear this treatment offers something more than the latest beauty craze—it’s a thoughtful, science-backed approach to skin health that invites you to consider long-term care over quick fixes, with results that speak for themselves.

The Rise of Thoughtful Aesthetics: Why Less is More in 2025 https://staging.whiteorchidinsights.com/news/the-rise-of-thoughtful-aesthetics-why-less-is-more-in-2025/ Wed, 19 Feb 2025 12:02:34 +0000 https://staging.whiteorchidinsights.com/?p=505091 It’s February 2025 and whilst the “hot trends of 2025 pieces may have been left behind in January’s news, at WOI, we’re still obsessed with understanding more about how consumers are behaving. What do people want? What don’t they want? Today, we sit down with esteemed surgeon and renowned aesthetics expert, Dr. Pian Yip, founder of Jolie Beaute, to explore some of the evolving trends in aesthetic procedures (Botox, filler, thread lifts, Morpheus 8, Exilis Ultra 360, laser treatments and more). What we learned is that preferences might be shifting away from the “more-is-more” philosophy toward a refined, understated approach.

Beyond “Pillow Face” – why subtle enhancements are in for 2025

Dr. Yip shares, “over the last ten years or so, the aesthetic industry has been dominated by aggressive sales tactics, package deals, and an emphasis on high-volume procedures. Sometimes, this has led to patients having more treatments than they needed and a lot of correction work is now taking place, globally.

This has impacted the patient experience and now, we’re seeing a shift. Since early 2024 and continuing into 2025, we’re seeing a more thoughtful approach emerging—one that prioritises patient needs over trends and commercial interests. Increasingly, people are seeking treatments that enhance their natural look while maintaining their individuality. This is a massive shift from the days when clients would come into the clinic with an Instagram or celebrity image and ask for that homogenised look. It’s lovely to see my patients feel more empowered to find their own style; as a doctor, I want my clients to feel confident at any age.”

Many forward-thinking clinics in Hong Kong are focusing on personalisation, patient respect, and long-term results.  According to Dr. Yip, the most long-lasting aesthetic treatments are those that take into account the unique structure of each individual’s face. She says that subtlety and expertise in delivering treatments seems to be a top priority to her clients, taking precedence over fleeting trends.

Less dramatic change, more subtle “tweaks”

Speaking with Dr Yip, it’s clear that fewer patients are looking for dramatic transformations and more are asking for gentle refinements that preserve their personal expression. This shift towards respecting natural beauty indicates that treatment choices are driven by genuine patient wishes rather than pressure. “We understand the pressure to stay looking young and whilst we can help with that, we also want to be sure we’re delivering the right treatments for every individual. Such an approach fosters trust between practitioner and patient, ensuring that decisions are made collaboratively rather than as a result of aggressive marketing or external factors”.

Aesthetic trends in 2025

According to Dr. Yip – the “old favourites” remain popular, but with some updates:

  • A move towards preventative treatments like “baby Botox,” which softens fine lines without freezing expressions.
  • A decline in high-pressure sales environments, with some clinics adopting a zero-sales approach to ensure ethical treatment choices.
  • A growing interest in non-invasive procedures that refresh and rejuvenate without downtime.
  • The integration of aesthetics with wellness, ensuring that patients feel respected, safe, and confident in their choices.

As the field of aesthetics continues to evolve, thoughtful treatments that celebrate each patient’s unique features seem to be shaping the future of the industry. According to Dr. Yip, aesthetic treatments are no longer solely about looking younger—they’re about presenting the best version of yourself in a way that feels genuine. “For one client, a noticeable frown is not acceptable, for another – they prefer to retain movement in their face. Personalisation is everything now – not a one size fits all approach”.

The Role of the Doctor

Dr Yip ends our chat by saying, “innovation in the aesthetics is moving quickly and Hong Kong is well placed to deliver world-class beauty care. There is clearly a demand for anti-ageing treatments and in parallel, patients are telling me that they want to have a “safe space” to have a discussion about looking and feeling their best. We’re here to give information, education, and support”.

If you found these insights valuable, please share them with anyone that might find it useful. Speaking with Dr. Yip, one thing is clear –  a crucial element of the shift is the power of the consumer to make informed choices and the role of the practitioner. Our conclusion? It’s important for clinics to employ trained doctors and surgeons that have a deep understanding of facial anatomy and who embrace an approach rooted in medical expertise rather than sales-driven incentives. This ensures that patients receive expert guidance, tailored treatments, and an environment that prioritises safety and trust.

5 Holistic Supplements to help you Age Better https://staging.whiteorchidinsights.com/news/holistic-supplements-to-age-better/ Tue, 06 Aug 2024 12:22:17 +0000 https://staging.whiteorchidinsights.com/?p=504673

5 Beauty Supplements to help you Age Better

Feeling the pressure to keep up with the ever evolving wellness trends? Throughout the past decade, we have seen hundreds of beauty fads come and go but it’s hard to ignore a significant shift in the preferences and priorities of consumers. For years, quick fix solutions like Botox and filler have been the go-to solutions for anti-ageing concerns, but in recent years we have seen more of a demand for holistic wellness products focused on longevity, with the emergence of a new trend coined ‘healthy ageing’. In Hong Kong, High Society Clinic with its growing line of beauty-tech treatments, beauty products, and supplements, such as Glowagen is leading the way with a range of supplements to help you age better. We spoke with founder, Rebecca Chung to find out more about how the beauty industry is changing and what people in Hong Kong can do to age better.

“First, consumers are so much more savvy than they used to be. They still look to celebrities for inspiration and ideas but now, most people will know someone that has aesthetic treatments of some sort. This means there is a level of scrutiny on the beauty industry and people want to know whatever they are paying for will really work. Our customers also want to feel good (not just look good) so we’ve introduced items to the brand that help with sleep, energy, gut health, and intimate wellness.

Healthy ageing, fuelled by a demand in preventative approaches, is all about improving longevity with a focus on preventative methods backed by science over quick fixes. This new idea of ‘healthy ageing’ prioritises a more holistic approach to wellness as opposed to focusing only on what people can see.

“We have a lot of clients in Hong Kong that are so tired and they feel it shows on their face. Yes, they want facial treatments to look fresh and youthful but they also want better sleep and overall health. Of course, we’re not doctors but we work with doctors and have developed a line of supplements to help people sleep and feel better”.

With the continual development of research targeting gut health, sleep and anti-ageing products, the importance of a well-rounded approach is becoming more important than ever.

High Society Clinic’s Glowagen, founded by Rebecca Chung, is an easy-to-take supplement that helps people feel better, not just look better. The Glowagen line includes a range of preventative supplements with standout key ingredients to help slow down the signs of ageing and promote longevity from the inside out. Broken down, these are:

NAD+2.0

NAD+ is produced naturally in our bodies but levels begin to decline with age and as a result, can boost the ageing process. While we can’t stop the natural decline of NAD+, studies have shown that supplementing NAD+ can help to slow the decline and the subsequent effects. Glowagen’s NAD+2.0 can help to restore declining NAD+ levels in the body, helping to improve sleep quality, reduce fat synthesis, aid in fat reduction and water drainage and contains antioxidants and anti-allergic properties to delayskin ageing.

This 7,000-Year-Old Health System Just Fixed What My GP Couldn’t

My Ayurvedic Awakening in Sri Lanka’s Secret Sanctuary by Sarah Keates. Sri Lanka is famous for its tea, temples, and tropical beaches, but I arrived seeking something more profound: Ayurveda, the ancient Indian wellness system known as the “science of life.” Ayurveda takes a holistic approach to health, aiming to balance mind, body, and spirit. At its heart are the three fundamental energies, or doshas: Vata, Pitta, and Kapha. In simple terms, these doshas are like elemental personality types. Forget Bali. This Is Where Hong Kong’s Smart Travellers Are Heading in 2025

Is Sri Lanka the new Bali? Possibly. Standing on the southern coast, looking out over tangled palms and an ocean that doesn’t seem to end, it’s hard not to draw comparisons. I don’t love pitting one destination against another, but there are parallels. Sri Lanka has the beauty, the forestry, the surf and the serenity—just without the brunch queues and Instagram itineraries. It still feels raw, genuine, and blissfully unspoilt.

Can One Voice Really Change Hong Kong’s Social Enterprise Landscape? Anushka Purohit Explains Her Mission

I’m the only person on the list who at first glance wouldn’t ‘look’ like a Hong Konger, and that’s my power. I want to represent people from different walks of life, especially people like me who truly identify as a Hong Konger but don’t necessarily fit the traditional boxes to be considered as one. I’ve always cared about creating opportunities that don’t exist, so I hope to use this platform to make unheard voices heard.
